Benchtop Ring Annealer - developed with Hurst Edson of MX Automation:
I always regretted that we did not get to make this and it remains a possible idea for a product to sell into the jewelry industry. There is a lot of room for value engineering with the use of sheet metal parts.
- Inductive heating is perfect for this application, providing heat only in the work piece itself rather than in an oven.
- The fixture is designed for ease of use. The work flow is to lift the lid, place the ring on the ceramic mount, close the lid, activate the heating cycle, open the lid and remove the work piece.
- Optionally gas can be pumped about the ring to prevent the development of firescale, reducing clean up time.
